NeuroMab hcn2
HCN, an I h ion channel, localized to both inner and outer surfaces of calyces. (A) Section from the CZ of a female rat crista immunolabeled for calretinin ( Calret , green ) and <t>HCN2</t> (red) in several calretinin‐positive calyx‐only afferents; a single calretinin‐negative dimorphic calyx ( D ) is present. In (A’), the calretinin label seen in (A) has been removed to show light HCN2 labeling of all calyces, including the dimorphic calyx ending. (B, B’) Same immunolabeling as in (A, A’), but from the PZ. A single type II hair cell ( II ) and several dimorphic ( D ) calyces are present; the calyces are slightly more heavily labeled for HCN2 than are those in the CZ; the type II hair cell is very lightly HCN2 labeled. HCN2 label is found on both the inner and outer surfaces of the calyx ( arrows ). Scale bar (for all four panels) = 5 µm.
