Article Snippet: For characterization, EPC of one sheep were incubated with 10 μg/ml DiI AcLDL (low-density lipoprotein from human plasma, acetylated, DiI complex; InvitrogenTM Molecular ProbesTM Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., Waltham, MA, USA) for 4 h at 37 °C, fixated with 2% paraformaldehyde (PFA) (Sigma Aldrich), washed and incubated with 10 μg/ml FITC-conjugated lectin (Ulex europaeus, Sigma-Aldrich) for 60 min. Counterstaining was performed with DAPI (1 μg/ml, 10 min; Life Technologies, Carlsbad, CA, USA).
