Larodan jasmonic acid
Exogenous treatment with <t>Jasmonic</t> <t>acid</t> effectively stimulates the production of PTX. A . The level of JA in the TmLOX13 -silenced cells compared to control cells. B. The amount of secreted PTX in the medium of TmLOX13 -silenced cells treated with 100 µM of JA compared to non-treated. C . Relative expression of key genes involved in PTX biosynthesis ( TXS , DBAT and DBTNBT ) in both TmLOX13 -silenced cells treated with 100 µM of JA compared to non-treated on days 8, 12, 16, 20 and 24 after inoculation (DAI). The color scale (black-red-white-green-black) indicates the relative changes of transcript abundance from − 20 to + 20-fold. All measurements were performed in triplicate. Data are mean values ± SD ( n = 3). Statistical significance was evaluated by ANOVA analysis. Asterisks indicate significant differences between JA-treated samples and their respective control samples ( * P < 0.05).

Fig. 2. Changes in accumulated amounts of phytoalexins and plant hormones in Nipponbare (NB) and WRC68 (68) cultivars induced by the attack of brown planthoppers (B: BPH) and green rice leafhoppers (G: GRL). The control leaves were incubated without insects (C). After incubations of rice seedlings with BPH and GRL for 13 and 18 day, the aerial parts of the rice plants were separated into uppermost, middle, and lowermost from the leaf tip to bottom. The leaf segments were extracted with 80% methanol and subjected to LC-MS/MS analyses in MRM for phytoalexins and plant hormones. The detected amounts were normalized and expressed as a cell plot.
