The control rat (A) shows that when the neurokinin 3 receptor (NK3R) was not activated or internalized there was no association with importin β-1 (β-1). Conversely when the NK3R was activated by a 2M NaCl challenge (B) it associated with importin β-1. Western blots also show a band at ~15kD that was present only in the co-immunoprecipitation blots. This band was present even in the absence of primary antibodies and is believed to be part of the magna bind beads that fractured during the elution process. Quantification of labeling density (C) shows that there is 24 times more importin β-1 labeling in the 2M NaCl challenged rats compared to the control rats.
